For Prize Contest.
I have derived pleasure and profit both from buying seeds of Mr. A. Burpee Co. I bot some "Ten Cent Store" bulbs once and thot they were beautiful, but last winter I had some Burpee Narcissus blooming at Christmas time and they were the prettiest sight I ever enjoyed in the winter.
Then some Burpee hyacinths and tulips that I planted in the ground last fall bloomed this spring and I never expected to see such beautiful flowers as they were. Some of my neighbors saw them. One of them told me that she wanted to order some of them this fall because she thot they were the largest and prettiest she ever saw.
I raised such large zinnias and carnations last summer, I sold several ten cent bouquets on market.
I gave many a bouquet to my neighbors and that gave me great pleasure because I like to enjoy my flowers with others. I enjoyed the children's enthusiasm in watching the blooms open up.
