We expect to have a very fine run to-day if fog keeps off and we don't have a storm. The Captain said we were going very fast indeed. June 26th. 1890. Thursday
It is a good deal calmer this morning. The hope we had had of making a splendid run was destroyed by fog. For three hours the fog horn was heard. I read almost all day for I am in the middle of Pickwick Papers, and you know what that means. It got a good deal rougher this evening, and the rain fell down in torrents for about half an hour. Run 440. Dissapointed but under the circumstances good.
