Friday, Alfred and I rode to the hunt. The meet was at Coddington Point and the death on the Valley road. It was not very long nor exciting, but there were a good many people there notwithstanding a Polo match took place the same day.
Saturday Willie went to Polo with me. It was a very exciting match between the Harvards (who got beaten) and the Miopia.  We drove down the avenue once after the game was over and met lots of people.
Sunday we had the vis-a-vi and the victoria and drove out to the church by the farm. Mama, Papa, Baby, and Alfred went in the victoria, and the other three boys and myself in the other

carriage. The drive out was very pleasant. It was much cooler than it had been been, and Bill seemed to have a craze for the view. This is quite new, and [[strikethrough]]t[[/strikethrough]]he showed us the surrounding country with enthusiasm. We reached the church first, and got seats way in the front. The singing was very bad, none of the voices in the choir were good, so naturally the singing was poor.
The sermon was quite good, parts I liked very much, what he said about love for instance, but it was nothing especial.
After the service was over we walked across the fields to the farm, where we had a good cold lunch.
