Back to Nutley again I go through New York on the [["U" ? or "L"]] train now. When I crossed from City Hall to the Terminal Building it rained like the dickens and my feet were as wet as if I had waded through water.  Lloyd came for supper.

Saturday Nov 2 [[/preprinted]] 
Went in town at noon to the theater with Pop and Ma.  We went to the Manhattan Opera house to see the tragedy "Macbeth" by Sothern and Marlowe.  It was swell - full of ghosts and witches.  There is a terrible war going on between the Turks and the Balkan States.
Arianople is fallen and there is a rush on Constantinople.
