J. got a Telegraph Dispatch this afternoon, dated Washington June 7th. 2 o'clock saying Burd is safe and well, May. I suppose this was sent by May who may have gone to Washington to get information and sent this dispatch.

   [[underlined]] Tuesday 10. [[/underlined]] Mark Galligher, Mount Carbon left [[left margin]] mules. [[/margin]] two Mules to be pastured until the canal is repaired. John Patterson took Mrs. Peale to Mr. Zill's this afternoon and got 9 Egg-plants. I planted them at once although it has been raining all the afternoon. I put a wheel on a barrow that was without one, finished the corn. 50°. calm a dence fog. 58°. calm n e. commenced to rain in the afternoon. 60°. calm, rain s e. The two Johns commenced cleaning the sweet corn, cultivating & howing it.
   [[underlined]] Wednesday 11. [[/underlined]] I have been painting all day on N. 78. One of our neighbours horses this morning broke down our fence, we had to put in 5 new posts. 57°. s w misty rain. 65°. s w rain. 59°. calm clo 10 n w.
   [[underlined]] Thursday 12. [[/underlined]] I have worked all day in the garden in the afternoon Mrs. Peale, John Patterson and the girl Lizzy assisted in weeding. George John Potts, and John filled in the earth over the drain in the meadow near the house. 
Fred. Dinderan left 2 mules to pasture. he lives opposite the gate of the Cimitary in S Haven. 55°. calm fog. 76°. w clo 4 nw. 73°. calm s w clo 2 s w.
   [[underlined]] Friday 13. [[/underlined]] I have worked the greater part of the day in the garden. mowed the grass plots in front of Edwards house, scuffeled the Onions, Beets, Parsnips, Peas &c &c. Painted a little on N. 78. fixed our front door to make it shut better.
64°. calm, clo 3 w. 82°. s w clo 9 s w, a thunder just about 6, with rain. 68°. calm, clear.
   [[underlined]] Saturday 14. [[/underlined]] I have painted all day on N. 78. Our people have been all day putting up the fences near the river, that were washed away.
   Mr. & Mrs. [[Graif?]] called this afternoon.
