68    February 1863.
[[underlined]] Monday 16. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 86. 
Finished the stretcher that I commenced on Saturday. Mary, Louisia & May started in the carriage for Potte. soon after breakfast, but Mary was taken sick and went to Mrs. Levan's, Sarah gave her something which made her better. They all dined there and got home before night. I sharpened & set the cross-cut saw as they want to use it tomorrow in preparing wood for the baling of hay.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 17. [[/underlined]] Mr. Wolf sat to Mary this morning, I painted in the afternoon on N. 86. 
  It commenced snowing between 8 & 9 oclock and continued all day until sunset.
  Edward & E. Hubbley went soon after breakefast to Auburn & then to S. Haven got home late this afternoon.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 18. [[/underlined]] Miss Bast sat, also Mr. Graef to Mary this morning. And then preparations for a Sleying Party, kept me engaged most of the day, so that I didnot paint any. 7 sleigh loads came just before evening from Pottsville. at 8 oclock they all supped here and then returned to Edward's, where the company amused themselves in the sitting room and in the studio where 2 tables of cards were, and in the dining room they danced. (the carpet & furniture all being removed previously) The violinist sat in the entry so that they had two sets, one in the sitting room also.
It was quite a pleasant party of young folks, but unfortunately it began to rain soon after supper & continued all the evening, three of the Ladies remained with us all night Miss Brook & Miss Beck and Maryeliza P.
