[[underlined]] Monday 16.[[/underlined]] Mr. W. Levan sat to Mary this morning and I painted all the afternoon on No. 89.
While Mr. L was sitting they heard a noise which proved to be Edwards parlour stove pipe which upset the stove, this was owing to the joints of the stove pipe not being properly put together, with Mr. L's assistance it was soon put to rights again. Edward came home this evening from Pottsville he got a letter from Loueisa saying she would be home tomorrow at noon.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 17.[[/underlined]] Mr. Graeff sat this morning to Mary. I then painted the remainder of the day on N. 89. Edward went to the Landing for Louesia but she didnot come.
Mr. Wolf and Sarah Levan came this afternoon and supped with us, she was much pleased with his portrait which is now finished.
10°. calm e white frost all the trees and shrubs covered with ice, clear. 45°. calm, clear. 32°. calm, clear.
[[underlined]] Wednesday 18. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 89. This has been the most spring-like day we have had, although the ground is covered with snow.
37°. calm, misty rain e. 42°. w clear. 26°. e clear.
[[underlined]] Thursday 19[[/underlined]] Mary had no sitter today she then retouched N. 87 for me. I painted all the afternoon on N 89.
Louesia came home from Phila. by this mornings train Ed. went to the Landing for her.

[[underlined]] Friday 20.[[/underlined]] As Mr. Graeff sat this morning to Mary I didnot paint until the afternoon, when I went on with N. 89.
Edward started after breakfast to go to Macanoy city but didnot go further than Potte. finding the roads too bad.

[[underlined]] Saturday 21st.[[/underlined]] I have painted all day on N. 89. Miss Bast didnot come to set to Mary, which enabled me to use her easel &c.
Mr. Kouch of whome Edward purchased 12 tons of hay and bailed it, came this morning Edd. paid him for it, and dined with us, he lives near Orbern.
