March 1863 & April.
[[underlined]] Friday 27th.[[/underlined]] Mr. Graef sat this morning to Mary. The stretcher I made yesterday was too large for the Picture I therefore had to riduce it today to the proper size. Mrs. Peale and Louisia went this afternoon to Orwigsburg and then to S. Haven with letters, got the papers &c.

[[underlined]] Saturday 28.[[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 89. Edward took Mary and E. Hubley to Potte. in the carriage this morning & left her there, they came home at dusk.

[[underlined]] Sunday 29.[[/underlined]] None of us went to church today. we have had no company.

[[underlined]] Monday 30.[[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 89.
Edward Hubley went home this morning in the carrs, his Potatoes came up after he left, they were to be at the the Landing on friday last. This evening Mr. Wolf, Sarah Levan Mrs. James Levan & Mary came but rather late to see his portrait to advantage they are highly pleased with it. 
  Edward & George went to the Landing late in the afternoon to unload from the carrs Edward Hubleys Potatoes they unloaded one carr, before night. he then took some to the Poor House, they agreed to take the whole of them 700 bushels @ 75 cts.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 31. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 89. as Mr. Graeff didnot come. I commenced making a stretching frame but didnot finish it.

[[double underlined]] Wednesday April 1st. 1863. [[/underlined]] As Mr. Graeff didnot set, I painted all day, finished the stretcher & put the canvas on it.
31°. w slight snow. 34°. w clo 2 w. 27°. calm clo 4 nw.
[[underlined]] Thursday 2d. [[/underlined]] Miss Bast sat this morning to Mary, and Mr. Graeff sat also. I then painted in the afternoon on N. 87. Miss S. Levan brought Miss Bast this morning and went on to Orwigsburg and called for her after dinner. [[Strikethrough]] M [[/strikethrough]] Louisia went this morning to Orwigsburg & brought back Mrs. Snyder & child, took them home after dinner. Edward went to Potte. after breakefast & returned this evening.
