we had quite a pleasant visit, Mrs. Bannand and daughters were very kind to us we enjoyed the walk through the gardens &c. I got a number of Raspberry Roots of a very fine kind that Mary painted, they differ from my Antwerp being pointed instead of round, they are a little later. We also had some very fine Pears and Peaches for me to paint also some Isabella & Cataba grapes very [[lousshes?]].
  I left Mary at brother George's and I went up to Fredericks where I dined. I then called to see Mr. & Mrs. Bennet who were to go to Phila. in the afternoon train. Mary will stay up until tomorrow, John came home with me, I then planted the Raspberries forming a seccond row of Rasps. from the upper fence.
 When I got home I found that May was not very well she had last evening an attack of Coleramorbus & is very weak. all the others are well.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 22. [[/underlined]] I painted the greater part of the day on N. 91. from the peaches that I got from Mr. J. Bannan yesterday. Dr. T. Thompson & wife and Miss Rhodes spent the afternoon with us, they came from Mocanoy City this morning. This afternoon commenced takeing up Potatoes.
  John took Mrs. Peale and Louisia and the children to Orwigsburg this afternoon, they got two small Pigs from Mr. Curnian on the turnpike, they are small and poor, he had [[?]].

[[underlined]] Wednesday 23d. [[/underlined]] I painted the greater part of the day on N. 91.
Mrs. Peale and John Patterson went at noon to Potte. in the carrs.
Mrs. Benny Pott sent for Louisia to dine with her.
Edward returned home he went yesterday morning on the Lebonan Road on business. He brought L. home in the evening. 
  Mary took May to S. Haven this afternoon for a ride. Mary got a number of articles from Sister Harriet by the Express line.
