The rose bushes that I transplanted on Friday last looks well and fresh, this is the best season of the year for transplanting shrubery and trees, the earth settles about the roots and in the spring they are ready to grow.

[[underlined]] Monday 2d.[[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 93 although I was not very well since yesterday afternoon I feel rather better this evening. Edward went to Potte. this morning and returned in time to take Mr & Mrs. Hubley to the carrs for Reading, Louisia & Fanny accompanied them to the Landing. 
His men baled 40 bales of Hay today. 
Mary went this morning with Lydia to Bethlehem to see the girls at their school.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 3.[[/underlined]] The carpenter came this morning to fix the end of the house (weather-bourd it) and I assisted him during the day. Mrs. Shannan sat to Mary this morning. Mary came from Bethlem last evening & slept at Mr. Levans last night and came here with Mrs. & Miss Shannan they [[strikethrough]] dined [[/strikethrough]] dined with us. In the morning Mrs. Evans & Miss Amelia Betchtel came and also dined with us.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 4.[[/underlined]] I assisted the carpenter all day. Mrs. Shannan sat this morning to Mary.

[[underlined]] Thursday 5.[[/underlined]] I painted the greater part of the day on N. 93, the clouds begun to be so dence that I had to quit early. The carpenter so elevated that I gave him but little assistance, the scaffeld being above the upper windows.  Mrs. Graef sat to Mary this morning.
We dined at Eadwards, Mr. Hesron also dined there. 
Edward has been sending to the carrs Hay this afternoon to Macunoy City.

[[underlined]] Friday 6. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 93. 
The carpenter finished clap-boarding the end of this house this afternoon and repaired the roof about the chimney and commenced with the front porch.
This afternoon towards night we had quite a hail storm from the n. w. and blew up very cold.
