this afternoon, he came to see E. on business connected with the agency.
Mrs. Try worked a part of the afternoon in removing the grass & weeds from the Rasberrys but was stopped by the rain. I put up [[?]]kitchen stove pipe in the outer kitchen.
George & Jacob have been all day fixing the fences on the road, the greater part of the posts are rotted off, new ones taking their place, the rails are all good.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 6. [[/underlined]] Edward took Mary this morning to the carrs for Phila. I fixed Louisias kitchen stove pipe, the cooking stove was removed to the outer kitchen and today it was so raw & unpleasant that it was proper to have a fire to warm the dining room & house, Edd. was absent. I made a new handle for a hoe, it has been raining all day & perhaps last night for the ground is very wet.

[[underlined]] Thursday 7. [[/underlined]] I made a small stool to use in the garden & arranged the seeds to plant as it has been too wet to do anything in the garden, seperated the bunches of currant bushes that Edward took from the front garden last fall and made over 20 good plants of them.
got a short letter from Mary this evening saying that [[underlined]] B [[/underlined]] urds resignation was accepted and he is at home now.
Fanny was quite unwell all last night & today.

George & Jacob have been all day bailing hay at Lessoys Edward went after breakfast to Potte. & St. Clair on business.

Mrs. Try dug along the Raspberries and along the walk, from Edwards back door, planted Currant bushes along the walk, and dressed the Raspberries on the east side of the pailing and shall fill up the deficiency with new plants dressed the bed from Mary's to Edd.  back door &c. Mrs. Try cleaned up the asparagus bed. planted a grapevine at Edd. back porch a layer from the one at the studio door.
