And one of raised letters, a "Memorial of the late Coloˡ. Albert G. Waterman senior vice President of the Pennsylvania Institute the Instruction of the Blind prepared by the desire of the Board of Managers by Franklin Peale, one of the Vice Presidents."
He presented me with a number of admission tickets to the Wednesday concerts for the family.
In the evening Alverda and her husband (Amis  called and spent the evening with us.
[[underlined]]Thursday 10th.[[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale came from germantown, and James Patterson dined with us. Mrs. Peale and I joined Mrs. Thorp and Mr. William Miller at the germantown, Depot and went to Chestnut Hill in the carrs to his house there. It is a beautiful spot and highly improved; he bought it and erected the house about six years ago a fine spring supplies the house & barn with pure water in great abondan
[[underlined]]Friday 11th[[/underlined]] spent a quiet day with them, his two sisters keep hous for him.
[[underlined]]Saturday 12th.[[/underlined]] In the afternoon we returned the visit of Mr. George Miller & wife at Mr. Lentz
we took tea there & spent a pleasant evening.
[[underlined]]Sunday 13[[/underlined]] Mrs. Peale went with Millers to Presbyterian church, we went yesterday afternoon to see Mr. James Gowen he was in the City but Mrs. Gowen & daughter received us very kindly, his garden and grounds are handsomely arranged the hous is very large and comfortable and well furnished. it is on the spot where the the Mount Airy Colledge stood when I was last there, he has a neat green house, but the plants are mostly put out in the garden, as he was absent I didnot see his live stock. His son spent this day and evening with us as well as Mr. Geo. Miller who complaining of Inflamitary Rheumatism I operated on his right arm and removed the pain and nearly all the swelling from it.
[[underlined]]Monday 14[[/underlined]] Mr. Miller gave me a number of Roots of the Hornet Raspberry, small green gooseberry & other plants with a hope that some of them might grow although it is late in the season for transplanting.
