Mrs. Peale is much better than she has yet been.
I have not been well yesterday and today, this morning I felt old for the first time, I was very languid and tottering.  This evening I am much better. 
put the hen with the young Partridges in a large box and fed them with shreenings

[[underlined]] Tuesday 5.[[/underlined]]  I painted the greater part of the day on N. 102. and worked a little in the garden.
Mrs. Peale is rather better today but has not sat up any.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 6. [[/underlined]]  I painted all day on N. 102 & 103.
Mr. Larri Whitney and Mr. Womeldorff called this afternoon to see the Pheasant &c.
Mrs. Peale is still improving.

[[underlined]] Thursday 7.[[/underlined]]  I painted all day on N. 102, 103 & 104.
Mrs. Peale is much stronger today, on the whole is much better.  Worked in the cool of the day in cleaning the front walks &c.  The day has been very opresive

[[underlined]] Friday 8 [[/underlined]]  I wed in the garden early this morning and painted the remainder of the day on N 102 & 104
Mrs. Peale is still improving
Matilda Patterson, Mrs. D Carpenter and Mrs. Trowers came to see Mrs. Peale this after noon.  Sarah Levan and her friend Mrs. [[blank space]] came also.
Fanny has been quite sick all day.
Edward has been cutting Rye all day 5 hands.

[[underlined]] Saturday 9.[[/underlined]]  Mrs. Peale is much better today she sat up a little while this morning.
I have painted nearly all day on N 102.
Mrs. Dr. Shippen, Mr. Nevell & Anna came this afternoon to see Mrs. Peale.
Edward finished with bringing in the hay.

[[underlined]] Sunday 10. [[/underlined]]  Mrs. Peale is much better today, walked with assistance to the lounge while her bed was makeing up.
This afternoon she wrote a letter in bed to our son J. Burd.
