The land office of the Province of Maryland.
Elizabeth Digley married Captain Polk.
James. Married Margaret Claypool. He was a fine miniature painter also in oil, portraits landscapes and fruit &c. His daughter Anna a fine miniature painter married The Revd. Dr. Staughten a Baptist minister and afterwards Genl. Duncan.

[[underlined]] Sarah [[/underlined]] Portrait painter.
[[underlined]] James [[/underlined]] a Bank clerk, but painted landscapes in oil and water-colours.
C. W. Peale was married before he was twenty one to [[strikethrough]] Marg [[/strikethrough]] Rachel Brewer of Anapolis, when quite young he was fond of coppeying with Pen & Ink. On a visit to Norfolk he saw a portrait and landscapes for the first time.
It is said that he procured a few colours from a Coach painter and his first attempt was a small head on board of a lady he saw in church, by many it was recognized to be Miss R. Brewer, who he afterwards married.

While I was in London a French lady sent a message that she would like to see me on the floor above, she seemed pleased to see me and claimed relationship, but what I donot know. Her name is Masha & resides in France.  ====
This has been a most delightful day clear and calm which made me think that Mrs. Peale would come home.

[[underlined]] Friday 5 [[/underlined]] I have painted the greater part of day on N. 99.
This afternoon Matilda came with several of her children and brought Mrs. Peale home, who is better than when she went to Potte. got a letter from Mary she says that May is much better.
18°. calm, clear. 49°. w clear. 40°. calm, clo 10. 
[[underlined]] Saturday 6 [[/underlined]]. I painted all the morning on N. 99. it became so dark and begun to rain that I couldnot go on with my work, after cleaning up my apparatus I read until my eyes aked.
