Mary made some variations in my Malaga grape leaves. She saw some very fine Pictures in New York.

[[underlined]] Saturday 20. [[/underlined]] I painted all the morning on N. 122. engaged a mechanic to make my bolts to keep my easel stiff instead of the hooks that are now on it.
Mary didnot paint any today.
Burd called this morning with a bottle of best brandy as medicine for me to take when overcome by exercise &c.

[[underlined]] Sunday 21. [[/underlined]] It has been a showery day much rain fall. Mary went to church morning and didnot go in the afternoon as Mr. Theadore Thompson called just as we dined.

[[underlined]] Monday 22. [[/underlined]] I painted all day on N. 121. Mary, Edward & Louisia went at 1 oclock to Washington to stay a few days. Charles called this morning. 
Anna Peale came this evening to stay with me 
Anna & I spent this evening at Mr. Sully's.

Mrs. Christie is in N. York, and Mary is in Washington to witness the great Review of our Army today and tomorrow.

[[underlined]] Wednesday 24 [[/underlined]] I painted all the morning on N. 94 and put in a new back-ground to N. 90 which Edward bought, and it has very much improved it.

I took the articles that I had made for the portible Easel to the cabinet maker to get fixed before Mary returns from Washington.
