to Holmesburg, we left in the 5 oclock train, Burdie was delighted to see me.
[[underlined]] Wednesday 21st.[[/underlined]] soon after breakefast, took me with him, to visit his patience, we had a most pleasant ride all around the neighbourhood and got home by dinner time the remainder of the day I spent in reading the papers. I got a letter for Mary from brother Burd, in which he says he disaproves of her purchasing a house for several reasons.
Mary came to Holmesburg this afternoon. 
six boxes came by the Express this evening.
[[underlined]] Thursday 22d. [[/underlined]] I went out with Burd all this morning, had a pleasant ride. 
Unpacked the box that contained the portrait of Washington all came safe. Assisted Burd in putting gause of frames to keep out the flies.
[[underlined]] Friday 23. [[/underlined]] I was out with Burd all the morning  This afternoon General Grant passed here, on a visit to Mr. Stewart, he was greeted very cordially all through Holmesburg. 70°. calm, clo 10. 90°, clear. 72°. clear.
The remaining boxes of pictures &c came this afternoon.
[[underlined]] Saturday 24. [[/underlined]] Burd and I unpacked 2 Boxes of Pictures this morning, I then got my paints ready and commenced two 2 small pictures, Cakes &  wine N. 128 for Charles, Strawberries N. 129 for Mrs. Wm. Patterson, we then hung the Pictures. 
72°. calm, clo 10. 90°. calm, clear. 72°. calm, clear.
[[underlined]] Sunday 25.[[/underlined]] I went with Burd all the morning until church time, not being very smart I didnot go. In the afternoon I went again with him
[[underlined]] Monday 26.[[/underlined]] I painted all the morning on N. 129 & N. 128. It has been raining all day a little.
[[underlined]] Tuesday 27th.[[/underlined]] This morning the air is remarcably pure perfectly clear and cerene, Burd was called up twice during the night wrode seven miles on horse back to a patiente
I painted all the morning on N 128 & 129.  This evening rodes out with Burd a short distance.
[[underlined]] Wednesday 28.[[/underlined]] I wrode out with Burd this afternoon below Tacona. I painted all the morning on N. 129.
