[[underlined]] Thursday 15. [[/underlined]]  I painted all the morning retouched the sketch N. 109 also N. 94. and begun a Landscape to try to get the method of laying on colour for a landscape as Mr. Moran does N. 110.
Mrs. Atwood called this afternoon to see Mary and intends going to N. York tomorrow & wants Mary to go with her.
Miss Stoddard and Mary went this evening to Dr. Thomas lecture at the Academy.

[[underlined]] Friday 16. [[/underlined]] I painted all the morning on N. 94. put in a new back ground and retouched the grapes and leaves.  [[strikethrough]] Bro[[/strikethrough]] Burd came in this morning Louisia also.  This afternoon Charles called.
Mrs. Atwood called and was desirous of Mary's accompanying her tomorrow to N. York.

[[underlined]] Saturday 17. [/underlined]]  I painted all the morning on N. 107. Henrietta and her daughter just from Bethlem school called and went to Burlington this afternoon. Mary and I took tea at Franklins this evening and then went to the Academy to see the galery of paintings for the benefit of the U.S. Christian Commission. It being night I couldnot see the paintings to advantage, I therefore to a season ticket & catalogue while Mary was attending the Lecture of Dr. Thomas.

[[underlined]] Sunday 18. [[/underlined]] I have spent the day alone. Mary went to church morning & afternoon, Emma dined with William at the Continental and got home at dusk.
