February 1865.
[[underlined]] Thursday 23.[[/underlined]] I painted all the morning on N 108. after going with Mary to Independance Hall to assist her in traceing the portrait of Martha Washington painted by my father [[strikethrough]] in [[/strikethrough]]. She is to make a copey of it for Mr. Atkins of Pottsville.
Called to see us today [[strikethrough]] Lydia[[/strikethrough]], Lizzy & Frederic Patterson and then two of my Grand Niece's, Mary and Louisia Peale, daughters of Edmond Peale. Then Edward, Louisia and John Patterson, so I didnot paint much. [[strikethrough]] Lydia[[/strikethrough]] Lizzie engaged me to paint a Fruit Piece for her of a watermellon, Peaches &c, also a small Strawbery and a basket upset on the grass. Edward purchased my bunch of Malagar Grape's $ 20 and took it with him. It has been drizzling nearly all day & very foggy this afternoon.

[[underlined]] Friday 24.[[/underlined]] I painted the greater part of the day on N 107 put a new back ground and skey, and finished N. 115.

[[underlined]] Saturday 25.[[/underlined]] I painted all the morning on N. 107. Lizzie & Jane Patterson, Mrs. J. Oglvie, Frederic Pattn. called
This evening Mary & I spent it at Mr. Mathew's  We were highly pleased with their collection of Photagrafs and views and many interesting articles of curiosities &c. It rained hard all the evening and I had a very severe attack of pain by the time I got home.

[[underlined]] Sunday 26.[[/underlined]] I have been alone most of the day; Mary being engaged at the church and Emma spending the day at Williams.

[[underlined]] Tuesday 28.[[/underlined]] Mr. Moran gave us a lesson this morning, Mrs. Cristie, Anna Peale & Anna Sellers were present, Edward called, and brought in the afternoon Louisia, Fanny & A.E. Hubley they remained until nearly dark. Burd also was here.
