After Moran went away I painted on N. 117. 35° calm n e clo 10 begun to snow at 8 oclock for a little while. 45°. calm n e clo 5. 37° n e clo 10.
[[double underlined]] March 1865. Wedsday 1st.[[/double underlined]] I painted the greater part of the day on N. 115, 116 and 117. Matilda Patterson came this evening from Pottsville she and Eddy spent the evening here.

[[underlined]] Thursday 2.[[/underlined]] I painted all the morning on N. 116 & 117.
Mary went to Washington this morning at 12 oclock Matilda Patterson slept here last night and went to germantown to see her sister Anna Benet & got back in the afternoon and went to the opera with Eddy.
Edward called this afternoon with E. Hubley. Anna Peale came early this afternoon to stay while Mary is absent.
Mr. Oneal from N. York to see Mary about a house of his in 9th street price $10,000.

[[underlined]][[strikethrough]] Thursday 3[[/strikethrough]] Friday 3.[[/underlined]] I painted a part of the morning on Anna's fruit piece for her.
Matilda slept here last night & went with Mrs. Bennet [[strikethrough]] to Germantown [[/strikethrough]] expecting to go to Norristown together but it rained too much & deferred it until tomorrow.
Matilda stays with us tonight. Emma & Eddy went this evening to the opera.

[[underlined]] Saturday 4th.[[/underlined]] The morning was so dark that I couldnot see my colours well, allthough I had set my palate ready to paint. But in the middle of the day it became lighter. Therefore painted on Annas picture Matilda went to Norristown at 11 oclock Mrs. Bennet to meet her and see the house and consult what furniture would be necessary to get, she was then to proceed to Potte. as her children were unwell.
Harriet, Fredericks wife, Eddy Patterson, Burd, Edward & Ed ? Hubly called, this afternoon Mrs. Bell & daughr called, and Harriet Shippen. And this evening Edward & Charles called. also Mrs Sarah Oglvie. It cleared up finely after noon today.
