the charming waitress welcomed us - turns out she is from greece - Cyprus - the tall head waitress glares at us - 2 then 4 then 6 State Troopers come in for dinner. She actually goes from one to the other pointing us out that we had been in with negroes - it is hard to believe but it happened - they turned their eyes to our table - glaring and kept it up - then three in evnin jackets - ununiformed came in - she went to them - they glared - what a meal!
The Greek girl charming as she was, saying she had been here 3 yrs - 1 yr in the South - through time it seems to come back to me - of the feeling as a child - this same staring fear - tightlipped women - high hipped women - tiny waists - large

bumpy legs - but the troopers all over - in the lobby - in the office of the hotel - the entrance, the fear they set up - how will it ever end?
