For Prize Contest.

Into the hands of a city-dweller, long ago, fell a seed catalogue. It was a new kind of literature to her, and proved so fascinating that her collection of seed catalogues became entirely [[overwrite "dispropottionate]] disproportionate [[/overwrite]] to her tiny back yard and its needs.

The city-dweller, who was myself, one day moved to the country. Then I found out how true was the familiar Burpee slogan "Burpee's Seeds Grow". Soon I had more flowers than I could use. Then I heard of an organization which promotes the sending of flowers from the country to homes and hospitals in the nesrest large city, The [[overwrite "w" over "2"]]flowers [[/overwrite]] are packed in pasteboard cartons, arranged in layers separated by wet newspaper. It is one of my greatest pleasures to raise flowers from seed, to have the joy of gathering and packing them, and then to know that they are giving happiness and cheer to the poor in the city.

I can truthfully [[overwrite "y" over "t"]] say [[/overwrite]] that Burpee's seeds are largely responsible for this pleasure, now more than ten years old. I have used Burpee's seeds for many years more than that, always finding that they germinate strongly, and so provide an early crop of flowers.
