[[underline]] Nov 8. [[/underline]] Still trekking into the Blue. Marched from 5.45 to 10.30. Very hot & [[strikethrough]] Safari [[/strikethrough]] porters getting rather weary. Left 2 of them behind at Kizii sick & others are suffering from coughs, colds, varicose veins, sores, cuts etc. Now in the Karinondo Country. The natives resemble the Kizii but are even more naked, a string of beads round the waist & some arm and leg ornaments being all they wear. Not so many carry spears as the Lumbwas, but seem a happy lot.
Our Camp is generally invaded by a crowd who sit & laugh & chatter with the porters. This is how the 7th days [[treking ?]] without firing a shot - Hope our patience may be rewarded.
[[underline]] Nov 9. [[/underline]] Marched from 5.30 to 12 Noon. Very hot. Safari getting rather weary. Camped about 3/4 miles from the Riana. Just before encamping came across a lot of fresh elephant tracks & actually encamped under a big tree where they had spent last night or been this morning. Native Karinondo report elephants quite close so we have sent out scouts to locate them. Feeling rather seedy, shall take a dose.
[[underline]] Nov 10. [[/underline]] Great day! Left camp at 7. am and by 8 am

Transcription Notes:
Introduction of project talks about "Kizii country." But aren't we supposed to type as written?
