left one boy behind at our last camp too sick to march. Expect to reach Kericho in a little more than 3 hours tomorrow.

Marched at 5:25, reached Kericho 9:30. Rained most of the way. Weighed our tusks.  they just pull over 70lbs a piece. Sent off mails & found 3 weeks mails from England waiting for us. Delightful surprise. Marched on another 5 miles & encamped about 12:30.

Marched at 5:45, called at Major Carnegie's farm and [[took? bout?]] 2lbs of butter and a ham. Arrived Lumbara station 11 am. Picked up what remained of our stores & came on by train at 
2:40. Arrived Londiani Station soon after 4 & had tea. Roosevelt arrived & L introduced me. Only saw him for a few moments but he impressed me enormously. Charming to meet & with a striking personality. He had been hunting from Londiani & joined our train. I believe he said he was going to the Delamere's. L + I weighed ourselves at Lunibara. He weighed 15.0 3/4 and I [[underlined]] 14.2 1/2 [[/underlined]]. Wonderful! Have taken off nearly
