After skinning & cutting him up, I circled towards home & came across a Kongoni. He ran a short way & stood still and I knocked him over at 250 yards, having eventually to shoot him through the neck to finish him. I got back to camp about 5.45 in the worst downpour we have had, soaked to the skin. I found L in the same state, having just come in, he had shot 2 Kongoni. There appear to be nothing here but Kongoni & Zebra. I heard a lion in the morning. I carried a shotgun on the march in the hope of getting a Bustard, but could not get near enough. I shot a hare & a pigeon & missed 2 partridges badly. I forgot to mention yesterday that we weighted at the station on a machine that had just been adjusted. I only weighed 13.8 & L 14.4 1/2.
