camp & it was 3.30 - just 3 hours of daylight.
The less said the better & we set off for camp - my 2 gun bearers & myself. After going about 2 miles, [[strikethrough]] My [[/strikethrough]] Malima whispered "Farou". Deep in bitter thoughts I had walked nearly up against an old Cow Rhino with a 3 parts grown young bull. It was my first close sight of a Rhino - & the colossal shapeless hideous brutes were very interesting. However we left them & walking quietly past them, I spied another. This turned out to be an Enormous bull, but not a great head. However I thought I had better have a go for him. He was out in the open so I thought 80 yards was near enough & sitting down gave him a 375 solid behind the shoulder. The effect was interesting to a degree to a novice like myself. He lept in the air with a snort, up went his little tail, round he whipped & charged straight upwind as hard as he could go. He went about 300 yards, then stopped & twiddled round 4 or 5 times & pitched over stone dead. We walked up & I fired one into his neck also
