rivers & found some Impala first of all. There was one Ram & about 20 does. He had a fair head. So I stalked him & killed him. I eventually found some wildebeest but could not get near them. There were literally thousands of kongoni & hund[[strikethrough]]e[[/strikethrough]]reds of tommies running about & prevented one getting near. I had one shot at 350 to 400 yards & hit the wildebeest badly but he went off and I could not see him in the crowd & failed to get him. After many hours trying, I turned back to the Cape Cart, killing a Zebra on the way. A very hot, trying day followed by a heavy thunderstorm, which gave me a good ducking. Got back to Nairobi about 6:30.

Packed up my belongings and went to see Lady Cranworth. Was to have dined at Government House but lost my way in the dark & never arrived.

Actually, I suspect that the last underline I noted may have simply meant to trail the final sentence...I'll let the reviewer be the judge... @siobhanleachman - think you are right so have edited and transcribed it as [[line]] * I think the time at the end of the first day is 6:30 instead of 5:30, it looks like one swoopy line to me which makes me think 6
