Today in the Ryks, met the Englishman there and we went all over the place. He tried to show me that the Dutch landscape was different from the things where Monet paints. Sure thing, Monet is not painting in Holland but still they have light and air here. I havn't been yet where they dont at least

Brought home the copy and took a walk, its getting cold as the deuce and all at once to. My chambre is like an ice house tonight.

Walked over by the Musée after dinner to get some American tobacco. Wrote "Mit" a letter and then it was so cold I had a [[lunch? linct?]] before bed.
