August 26

Came down late. Asked by Mrs. Allender and Mrs. Scott to help with Chase reception. Accepted. Went around with Mrs. Scott,- Brinkman, Leder, etc. Saw the studio being arranged for exhibition. Went to Teyler Museum etc with Wadsworths and Miss Rheinlander in afternoon then went [[insertion]] about [[/insertion]] with Frank.  Saw exhibition; it looked fine. Ullnean's portrait - beautiful in color & quality. Showed Frank the blacksmith. Mr. Chase's talk.  "Congenial spirits; Currier, Whistler, Tenth St. Studio."  Supper, with witches. [[insertion]](Piet) [[insertion]]. Me/orc. [[?]]singing (Betsey McGee) fun, home with girls.

August 27.

Looked for letter for a while then went off to Amsterdam. Walked to Six collection [[insertion]] via Kalver St. [[/insertion]], making stops. Looked for cane. Delft place - met Schamberg and Owsley, postcards. Saw Six under better conditions and with more enjoyment. Wandered back looking for Jap stores. Got Hokusai book. Lunch at automat, all right. Went along Nieuwe Dyck. Got cane. Home. No letter. Mrs. Cook came. Went to Leder. Saw Miss McEwen. Nice evening with the folks. Book admired. Around the square before turning in.

August 28.

No mail for me. Went to gallery, avoiding Brinkman's. Had a grand look at the pictures. In afternoon started for my final at the Ryks. Met Misses Andrews and Stibbly,  and Weiss. Changed ticket. Good time with them. Gallery at its best. Came home with Miss Andrews and went to Chase's studio and
