black canoe-looking sail boats ever seen. Each one with light. On other side of ship moonrise. Gloriously clear half moon in flawless sky, reflections. Talked in saloon for a time,then the crowd came up. Then went to 1st cabin again- when they were finally through Captain's dinner. Nice as usual; then Miss Williamson and I went on upper deck (by request of Sunny Jim) and had fine promenade in moonlight. Treasury of jokes. Great night air; blueness of things. Saw Captain Stenger. Came down, Saw Mr. Strasnoot and walked with him. The poor mad singer. Late again.
   June 23
We passed towns in England before I came boven. Coast faintly in sight. Miss McEwen and I watched it. Later on, fine olive greens in atmosphere. Lazy crowds on deck, some at shuffleboard. To reach Boulogne at 8:30. Madness of

Bezaque. Showed photographs to Mr. Aspinwall and other admiring ones. Wrote to Mrs. Scott. Dr. Langes Satisfaction List. Chalk cliffs-near. Gray towns to be seen. Last hours before Boulogne. Sea glassy. Removed very easy. The little "Holland" with her little captain whom I saw last year and sailorly helmsman. Goodbyes and cheers. Very downhearted classmates. Hard to cheer. Walked a bit.  Got book and went below. Short packing in afternoon.

Hoek van Holland about 6:30 A.M. Dressed and breakfasted and tipped at ease. Crowds + confusion in dock. got off, saw Mr. Townsley & helped to get crowd together. Decided to spend day at the Hague, which we did after delay. The dear Dutch country. Crowd new to it. Reached
