pleased to forward to you for study any type specimens of fossil cetacea in our collection, but that so far we have not been able to find and identify more than two of three - [[underlined]] Mesocelius siphunculus, Zarhachis velox [[/underlined]], and some [[underlined]] Priscodelphinus [[/underlined]] vertebrae possibly a type. There is a small collection of Cetacea etc. from Virginia, Miocene I suppose, but no more particular labels to any of them. I have not yet been able to get around to running down this material. We have too a considerable part of the skeleton of [[underlined]] Zeuglodon [[/underlined]] in the Warren collection, but it has never been unpacked, and I do not suppose you would have any especial occasion to see it.

Sincerely yours

W.D. Matthew
