St Lucia 18.
We came home about 10:30 and I began writing my journal to date. Dick is working on the index cards of volume I of his journal.
The rest of the day was uneventful.

[[margin]] April 13. Monday [[/margin]] During breakfast I noticed that Dick was not eating at all well. He would sigh and take a spoonfull and then act as if he were forcing himself to eat. Net result - his stomach is upset again, and he feels as if every muscle in his body hurts. Therefore, a day in bed is the best possible cure. As to-day is a holiday the town is rather quiet. I spent all of the day with Dick either reading or tickling or rubbing.

[[margin]] April 14 Tues. [[/margin]]
Dick got up for breakfast - a little to my surprise. After breakfast he sat down and began to work. He must feel infinitely better.
About 11 I decided to walk to town & go to the library. Instead of using the steps I went all the way by road. I think it is much easier that way. I bought a few stamps for my collection and went to the library. At the library I got two books "While Rome Burns" by Alexander Woollcott and "Queens of Crime" by Leonard R. Gribble (1932) - feeble in places.

I rested and read most of the afternoon.

I had a [[underlined]] real [[/underlined]] pain to-day. Spent a good part of the morning washing myself out with hot water - to little avail. Taking medicine faithfully. Was lounging around most of the day.
Dick went to town to get some letters mailed for me & send a money order to Wilfred for stamps. He came home in quick time.
Monday night when I came in I found a baby frog - about 1 inch long - sitting comfortably on the cushion of Dick's chair. This morning I found him on the floor dead.
Every day when the tea tray is placed on the bench a lizard comes down on the window sill and
