Didnt do much in morning. Packed some more shells. In the afternoon I went to play bridge at Mrs Lake's. The other two were Irena Goodwin and Mrs Fred. Purvis. Mrs Purvis is a Bostonian but one would never know it from her manner. Her talk and appearance is decidedly Middle West. Mr Purvis is an accountant for Moody-Stuart. We had a nice game and after we finished Mrs Lake gave me some of her guava berry liqueur to taste - it is excellent. We both came back here for dinner and I played Mah Jong in the evening.

It rained a little in the morning so we didnt go out. However, right after lunch the weather seemed to clear nicely so Dick & I decided to risk it and go to Fort James beach, shell collecting. This we did until tea time, and a fine lot of shells we got too! Usual afternoon and evening.

In the morning we went out to Five Islands Estate, for the purpose of going to Little Bay to collect shells. First we went up to see Mr Raeburn and then we rode the motor over to the beach. It was a little muddy in places but we got there safely. Spent quite a while on the

We expected Mr Raeburn to call this afternoon or evening, but for some reason or other he didn't show up. I learned a new game of ^ [[insertion]] double [[/insertion]] solitaire. Two decks of cards laid out like spread eagle. A bone pile of 13, play in turn, black on red, may build in suit on opponents "revolving" pile. Not a bad game at all.
Dick played hymns and them Mrs Mason played & we all sang. Quite a "jolly" time.

In the morning went up to the cathedral to take a picture of the harbour from there. Got two good ones. Then we took the pictures to Ho to be developed. We also went to the P.O. and to Lilian Shoul's to see her new dresses. They are fixing the upstairs over her brothers store - getting ready for Christmas. He has some very nice things and so has she. Her dresses are quite reasonable,
in fact I believe [[strikethrough]] n [[/strikethrough]] she makes a smaller retail % than shops do in the U.S. Her $20 dresses would retail at $25 to $29 in the U.S. However, on her
