Puerto Rico #20

the street car via Condado. It was quite an interesting ride and I enjoyed it.
In the evening we went to "The Aquarium" for dinner and to a show "The General Died at Dawn" - not bad at all.

Dick tried to get reservations for us, [[strikethrough]] but [[/strikethrough]] [[insertion]] on plane [[/insertion]] but it seems doubtful that we will be able to go before the 20th. (I'm not specially crazy about flying on the 13th anyway)
I went downtown early in the afternoon and had my hair fixed at Gladys de Castro's. The girl did my hair a San Antonio but I didnt like it as well as the first time.
We are still trying to calm our nerves after the shock of yesterday. Dick got his money refunded and maybe it is best in the long run as we save considerable.
In the evening we went to a show & saw "Sing Baby Sing."

Still somewhat hopeful about reservations for plane - until 4 o'clock when we went down town to mail some parcels. We gave up all hope then when we went to Pan-American.
There was a large cruise ship in. We think it was the Stadendam as she is due here sometime about now.
We had dinner at the "Aquarium" again

We took a ride out to Rio Piedras today. We walked to the Experiment Station and went to the library where we met Otero the librarian. He seems a very nice fellow. Dick thinks of using the library as a means of passing time but I wouldnt be surprized if he didn't go out again.
We have decided to send our trunk home as it is too much trouble to take with us. As a result we have to unpack and pack all over again.
As I'm feeling in a lazy mood I said I didnt want to do any cooking this week, so we are having all of our meals at the Tavern. As I couldnt get my holiday on the boat I'll get it here. Mr McDermott - owner of the Tavern - has been ill. He fell and sprained his back. His mother, who is very nice, has been over at the Tavern most of the time, and she suggested she might take me up El Yunque as soon as the road was repaired a little more. However it has rained a great deal the last few days and that wont improve the road.
This evening we went to a show and saw "We Went to College". Not so bad, and rather humorous.
