I got in about 8:30 this morning, Mrs. M. [[insertion]] exia [[/insertion]] remained at Santa Barbara da Caparaó for a few days to dry her stuff and collect more there.  That is the last semi-civilized place, on Rio Caparaó. I shall send you an account in a day or two. I want to get this off today. Miss Rolfs called here yesterday. She is at Bennett College (not far from here) and leaves tonight. I went over to see her after I got scrubbed and bichos de pe taken out of my feet and hands. The Russian doctor who lives here took 6 from around my fingernails. I had operated on the palms of my hands (Mrs. M's, too) and
