I had intended to walk back 20 km and take train to here, but I was loaded to capacity in 5 km by 3 o'clock (started at 7, couldn't get cafe earlier, but there was [[underlined]] milk [[/underlined]] so it was worth waiting for) and walked back. get away from this pensão.  The senhora is pitifully consumptive and the children have the sniffles (handkerchiefs unknown) and hang over me while I change driers and put plants in.
