worried but  hoped  someone took it in.  As we reached the edge of town the streets were dry, the downpour had not reached the city. I ran for my press and got it in just as the rain came down. The heavens were merciful to me.

The country around is  largely  sand and gravel, and there were little wet depressions so no wonder the harvest was so good.

I had engaged the auto youth to take me back to Annapolis, taking two days, stopping when I wanted to collect. After the rain  Saturday  Friday night he came into the hotel to say
