just before leaving for Viçosa. A man boarding here works in same place and told him I'd returned. He wrote inviting me to dinner. I got out of it by inviting him here. To my surprise he was very nice and interesting. After dinner he took me to a movie, Lou Chaney, and then to an American lunch room for [[underline]] waffles [[/underline]] and [[/underline]] maple sirup, [[/underline]] and chocolate Sunday after that. For once I was full -- I'm still hungry most of the time. Brasilian café, even here at Miss Brandt's, isn't much to go all day on. Mr. Hunnicutt was in Rio and I went to church with him and his sister-in-law and when we entered Mr. [[underline]] Harrison [[/underline]] ^ [[insertion]] Mrs Whites friend, [[/insertion]] showed us to a seat.
