to really see me in the flesh as Tom and Cowley had told him about me.
In his office I most fortunately met Mr Dwight of Coetquidian
After lunch went in auto with him out to the famous camp - a most wonderful place - high placed on commanding hill top miles of far spread country all around and millions of miles of sky.-
Dwight told me all the Past and Present problems - he has lived through a rotten Past . at this post - lived it down too - and now he is doing splendid work - under the sensible and clean thinking Mr. Howe (who was at Calais) - over 15000 men are here - [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] it is an artillery school. and all day. the big guns boom - and three or more splendid military bands play music. and it is quite an inspiring place to visit or to live in - Saw my coach - Schumacher who has developed into an entertainer. with some stories and a sermon - Hut densities good Saw a show in Hut 2, by a French troupe [[insertion]] in this camp [[/insertion]] - well received - I slept well, in the hut and was wakened at 4.30 by one of the excellent bands - their energy is surprising
