Paris radiant to-day. Autumnal and fresh with beautiful misty morning effects  Everyone talking and wondering what the President's answer will be - and soon it arrived - and was cautious - frank - and very fine indeed.
"Who do you speak for" - "Before we can make answer to you on this momentous question leave. get out of the invaded countries" Sums it up briefly - and by many it is understood to mean "unconditional surrender."
Found much to do at the office as always upon returning from the field - five or six new candidates to see and send out.  Pauline Vignon still ill - but getting along better and will be out in a few days.  Had interview with Sam Davis - about Xmas business Saw Tom Cushing - assembled a lot of costumes for San Marlo - came home early to a most welcome bed.

Conference with 8 Regional Entertainment Secretaries - and read them a statement about my work - Sam came in and gave them some information about his share in the Xmas Celebration - Afterwards there was helpful discussion - Went to see Jack - and found [[?]] Frazier there. he told of an exceedingly interesting interview he had had yesterday with Marshal Foch - who
