Saturday 18.
Cleaned out one costume shop this morning - and paid Frau Bettinger another visit and made another heavy drain on her stock
Harry Lippman and I did some shopping through the afternoon and I bought a lot of velveteen material for less than a mark a meter. great bargain!
Had interviews with Mr [[?]] - [[?]]s Purnell and swarms of others - straightened out various rough edges of Crays - and gave Cray + [[Jam?]] a dinner at the best Restaurant we could find
Later went to the Feste Halle and saw some good boxing.
No Corinna to-day
Tomorrow I am going to Cologne to buy a lot of costumes.
Sunday 19
Left Coblenz after lunch - with Cray Cunningham and Joe Sandburg, for Cologne. A beautiful run down the left bank of the river past famous points of interest - castles schloss and picturesque little turns. - and the ubiquitous American Soldier - Bonn - what a pretty place - Here we found Canadians - and the "smarter" uniforms - gold buttons, blacked shoes and swagger - our men lack - do not practice at any rate - The smartness of the salute seems to give the Tommie greatest delight -
Before it is finally consumated there
