Thursday Jan 23
Dined last night with Ida Tarbell who is here in our hotel.
Saw the James at Hotel Wagram - and dined with them at the Ritz - afterwards meeting all of the "Balkan Commission" at their rooms including an old friend Dr Bliss of Beyrut and East Jaffrey
My "Coblenz Plan" will now be the accepted one for material etc. - and other bases will be established at Toul. - Chaumont   Dijon   Toul. - Bordeaux + Brest - and in a month or so the costume department in Paris will have only specials + extras to carry out - and fewer + fewer coaches will be needed -
I shall now be able to think more about my Pageant of "Farewell to France" and I must go down to Brest to see Ron Glass about it.
Friday 24
A busy day at 10 Rue de l Elysee, seeing new people - amongst them was Eulah Grey, one of Tom Stevens best people  I shall send her to Verdun.
Marie Bonney left us to night for Bordeaux, she sails from there tomorrow
Saturday 25
Work all day, and dined with the James in the evening.
Cable from home. "children all well"  Bless their dear hearts - how I long to get home to them.

Wrote some letters at the office - one to Balliett -
