Suggested to Fred Cowley. that he goes to Corfu - which, I think pleases him. altho it is very hard for him poor man - to give up the much more active affairs he had expected, and I had hoped he would take charge of here in France - I am so sorry for the man,
Miss Chamberlain and Miss Hurlburt's affairs took up considerable time - and an unexpected turn in affairs came. in a letter from the Genl of the Division at Baccarat asking to have them transferred to his division permanently.
Sent word to Tom I would come up to Neufchateau on Wednesday - I must have an interview with Goodwin about Chamberlain & Hurlburt - and a difficult one with some Army men concerning soldiers in the Pageant - as Tom can do nothing with them in this matter.
