Friday 26th
Heavy rain in the night introduced a cool fine morning to Parisians - The Entertainment Bureau received back Mrs. Haley again from her vacation at Aix.
The other three girls are Miss Carter - Miss Shanklin [in the room called mine]. and a demure little French girl in Mr. Town's office
Mrs. Haley and Miss Carter receive all the Professional people in their room - it is often a seething mass of them. and typrewriters - telephones and talking. in two tongues makes it as lively an office as the building possesses.
Little Miss. Shanklin sits in my room and plays the typewriter all day long.  she is a sweet little girl - and now and then feels very badly about something - or somebody perhaps.  I have twice found her crying. - many people cry these days.
Soon we shall move from these rooms and go over to the more aristocratic quarters on Rue. Elysee No 10
Had an interview this morning with Mr. Davis about possible work with French - in Soldier Talent idea.
Lunched at Mildreds.
Got word from 5th Division - that I was wanted up there - to do some entertaining for soldiers just from Battle - so am going up tomorrow in motor with Miss Mochler - and an Armenian Russian girl - a pianist - Gertrude Ely goes up too - it is to her soldiers that we go. - a bunch that have been pretty well shot to pieces.
