Flashy seemed alive with even more activity than usual today. Lestes were preying on Enallagmas, Kingbirds on the Aeshnas. Aeshnas (Canadensis) were out in fair numbers for the first time. I caught one [[underlined]] Pachydiplax [[/underlined]] but it escaped leaving its abdomen in the net. As it flew up zigzaging, both [[underlined]] Aeshna Canadensis [[/underlined]] and [[underlined]] Anax longipes [[/underlined]] dived down on it from high in the trees. Also today I saw [[underlined]] Anax longipes [[/underlined]] mating -- but far from net's reach over the trees.
