This was one of those never-to-be-forgotten collections. As we hit the low swamp lands adjoining the Pearl River, we began seeing dragonfly after dragon fly flying in front of the car, mostly fairly high up. Suddenly we came to a spot which was swarming with dragonflies, and within net's reach. We jumped out and began swinging wildly, netting one after the other of those beautiful monsters. The swarm thinned out after 10 minutes, but they were still abundant enough to make collecting exciting.
