Fri. [[insertion]] Nov. [[/insertion]] 14 Arthur got [[strikethrough]] some [[/strikethrough]] clams, scallops, and oyesters & we came back to Halesite at 10 A.M.  Whitney Scudder came along.  A brisk lively morning, engine ran very well.  Had oyster stew for lunch, scallops dinner -  Finished edge on [[strikethrough]] floor [[/strikethrough]] cocoa matting in P.M.
Sat. Nov. [[underlined]] 15 [[/underlined]].  Cleaned stove & galley thoroughly & made curtains for g. portholes.  Arthur & I went to Huntington for Sunday marketing.  Got Pictorial Review with ills. for "We are Four) very good.
Sunday Nov. [[underlined]] 16. Very [[/underlined]] cold, really severe - Read papers, [[overwritten illegible word]] creweled [[/overwritten illegible word]] edges on bath towels, had large chicken dinner - Wind yelling around by night.  hail & everything.

Mon. Nov. [[underlined]] 17. [[/underlined]]  Last night the weather cut loose more & worse.  We were both awake & had misgivings - I thought - "If this is just the fall start - winter sample idea - it's an awful place we've picked.  Cold - coal gas & ship mate nearly out.  Waves thumping against boat & whats more lumber.  We found this morning a scow had sunk & today they picked up a young lumber yard off beach - Had a pump in motor boat that pumps 700 gals. per min.  Scow rose up & men put timber aboard again.  We moved The Mona up about 10 ft. 
Arthur up at 6 - I at 6.45.  Did pen & ink lines on green-lemon painting, & did another of little animal, matchboxes etc - Arthur & I went to glass house for kerosene can at 4.30.  Supper & to bed early.
