OCTOBER MONDAY-4 Thermometer 80 [[symbol for degrees]] in cabin. A to Huntington. Wrote to Sam about Erin's boat & to Paul - for birthday. I washed. A developed photographs in evening. A took stove out to move it & got hole in deck filled in. I for ice & to lumber yard for caulking cotton. Jim & Irene in for few minutes, we fixed Jim's cap! Planning to put stove side ways with pipe through roof. We don't like it. TUESDAY-5 A up at 3 A.M. figuring out place for stove between sink & drawer. Had platform cut out by 7 when I got up. A working like slave, putting up asbestuos - tin, cutting new hole in deck, I cleaning stove & helping. We got stove in place - a marvelous fit. I to Huntington for new pipe, we got that on, & boat all cleaned up by 5.30 & both delighted with it. Dinner & to bed at 7.15 - Letter from Mother asking us both to come up. [[end page]] [[start page]] OCTOBER WEDNESDAY-6 Both tired from stove job. I to Huntington in P.M. got A's suit & took plush curtain to see if will dye blue. THURSDAY-7 Out - intending to go to gravel pit but rough & windy, so around about then to shell dock, ashore on beach there & got wood stones etc. for paintings [[underlined]] Swell [[/underlined]] day! Had lunch & A caught some Flounders. Back about 3.30. Got groceries Wrote to Rowena. Brisk letter from Mother.
