Wea. FRI. MAY 18, 1928 Ther. A to Huntington in A.M. in P.M. A black fishing & I made drawings of cedar trees along beach. Irene & Jim in. About 6 o'clock Jim came over with a message saying Dorothy McCaury was dead. A real shock. We came back to Halesite, & A called up Frank, it was pneumonia. Wea. SATURDAY 19 Ther. Up early and in on 10.06 to N.Y. Went to apt. & saw Frank who was pathetic. Ordered flowers. Stopped at Intimate Gallery, sad on Picabie. To lunch & walked through Central Park, waiting for 3 o'clock; time message said funeral was. Got to Cambells at 2.40 & found they had left at 2.00 & services were to be at 3 at Woodlawn. Felt terribly but there was nothing to do. Came back on 3.04, I stopped in Huntington & telegraphed. [[end page]] [[start page]] Wea. SUN. MAY 20, 1928 Ther. A tried to telephone Lucian, did not get him & called up Sam McCoy, they will come over in two [[walse?]]. I hemmed curtains & made top for shirt. Had indigestion at night but took white powder & cured it. Wea. MONDAY 21 Ther. Letter from Kathleen Eddy. A & Al cleared out his boat. I slept until late. Nothing done in morning except writing in diary. I over to Tim [[boat?]] of car.
