Wea. WED. MAY 30, 1928 Ther. Decoration day. Both did odds & ends. A & Jim sawed on stump on beach. Blacks & crowd stopped [[?]] few minutes. A took Johnson apart put grease in etc. Wea. THURSDAY ^[[S]] Ther. Johnson wouldn't go, A rowed to Halesite. Old scudder house was burned - gasoline line sale through it. A had Dick smelt fix motors, telephoned Stieglitz, got pastels marketed & back at 12.30. I cleaned up boat & sewed. In P.M. A finished sawing & hacking stump of beautiful satin gray wood on beach & fetched it [[?]] Victory! I sat on beach & slept in cock pit. I sewed. [[end page]] [[start page]] Coal fire still going. Wea. FRI. JUNE 1, 1928 Ther. A up early and started pastel of Animal in love. Big & exciting. May call it "Dear Sir". At noon back to Halesite. Across harbor for coal. To P.O. a letter from Commander Sears. To yacht club to see paintings. To Ralston to stack up again. In afternoon & eve. I mended & finished blouse. A to meeting at Yacht Club. Wea. SATURDAY 2 Ther. Got things ready and down to Puppy's Hole. I a bad stiff neck & shoulder not able to do much but sew. A clammed.
