Wea. MON. AUG. 6, 1928 Ther. A rain & squally. Back to Halesite, just got ashore & telephone from Davidsons asking us to lunch with them "tomorrow". Spent day fixing things to go to town. Did up N. Yorker drawing, Life drawing, & [[might?]] advertising "still life". [[underlined]] I washed hair. We pumped out. [[/underlined]] Wea. TUESDAY 7 Ther. Up at 5 and took 7.15 train in. I to Dr. Becks. Had stomach pumped out. Got a lot of new instructions & medicines. To Brentanos on 47, & ordered "Transition". Met Elizabeth & Davidson, both looking lovely. A came soon. N. Yorker liked "I don't mind him", & man liked mine. Both kept them & will "let us know". A went to Colliers & Liberty, the later promised a story. Had a truly fine time with Davidsons & saw them to 1.30 train. Then to 5 & 10. then to [[end page]] [[start page]] Macys & Gimbels where I got a hat. Wea. WED. AUG. 8, 1928 (S) Ther. A to Huntington. Brought me a [[underlined]] sweet [[/underlined]] 1.00 dress & a lot of medicines! A telephoned Liberty - story not there yet. He telephoned Hoffmiller - said they did not buy story he spoke of, would send another soon. I rested all day. I wrote to Mother. Wea. THURSDAY 9 Ther. I posed for Life drawing, A finished it late in P.M. I cut out and mostly made black & white voile dress. Both rather tired.
